How You Have Helped

This October men in our community donned women’s shoes and walked a mile to raise awareness about the issue of abuse of women and funds to ensure emergency transportation to safety from anywhere across Elgin County to the 24 hour haven of Women’s Place – Elgin’s Emergency Shelter.

Chief Bill Lynch of St. Thomas Police Services; Emergency Medical Services Manager Jim Malik; and Chief Rob Broadbent of St. Thomas Fire Department led the inaugural Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event, an ©.

Leaders in funds raised were:

  • Bob Hammersley and Mike Vecchio of St. Thomas Chamber of Commerce
  • Matt Pfeifer and Jordan Lauzon of Royal LePage¬†Triland St. Thomas
  • St. Thomas Police Services
