Walk a Mile in Her Shoes

Thank you for making “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” Year 2 such a success!

Over 80 people came out to support creating a safer community for everyone.

Forty men donned women’s shoes and walked a mile to:

  • raise awareness about violence against women,
  • demonstrate their efforts to make a safer community for everyone, and
  • raise funds to support Women’s Place – Elgin’s Emergency Shelter for women and children

Together $7,000 was raised!

Leaders in funds raised were:

  • Greg Currie, Volunteer at Victim Services Elgin
  • Craig Storey, Abbeydale Animal Hospital; and
  • St. Thomas Police Services and Aylmer Police Services
