Gore Mutual & Omni Insurance Brokers Make a Difference in Our Community

On October 17, Gore Mutual and the St. Thomas Branch Omni Insurance Brokers gave $2,000 towards creating Women’s Place, Elgin’s Emergency Shelter. This money will help ensure that women and children all over Elgin County will have 24 hour shelter and safety.

Backpacks for Emergency Shelter

Monique Wood and Gianna Filipovic of the St. Thomas-Elgin branch of Retired Womens Teachers of Ontario presented 30 backpacks full of school supplies for distribution at the Emergency Shelter. The local branch of RWTO has donated school bags to us for the past 15 years. Thank you for supporting our children!

Backpacks for Children Whose Moms Have Been Abused

On October 8, 2014, Jenny Couse, representing the Thames Valley Education Foundation gave 70 backpacks so that children participating in Community Counselling services located in Aylmer, St. Thomas, and West Lorne could have all the ingredients necessary for school success in a time of transition and change.
